I Salute You (Kate Moss) by Dan Pearce
$2,750

Description

‘I Salute You’ features a blown-up image of Kate Moss, one hand covering an eye in the pose of a military salute. Mounted within an ornate, antique frame, Pearce has painted the whole piece - frame and all - in exquisite daubs of brightly coloured spray paint, ink, and resin, adding graffiti tags over the image for a contemporary, urban twist.

Exceptionally beautiful, as well as conceptually provocative, ‘I Salute You’ challenges the limit of the border, both in blending the urban with the traditional, and in merging frame with image: a truly powerful work of contemporary art.

Finished in Ornate frame.

Dan’s colourful creations are a pleasure to both look at as well as touch, combining finely grained sprayed backgrounds with drops of lustrous resin onto a variety of materials and surfaces. His abstract-decorative paintings are polished to perfection, showing Dan’s impeccable control of his working media.“I use a process of amalgamating ingredients like polished metals, rich resins, grinding gradients, intricate stencils and a large portion of urban mix to create a vivid, engaging world of iconic portraits.”

Taking inspiration from street and pop art and juxtapositioning it with fine art, his work is bold and confident in style often completely transforming iconic portraits with his own inimitable style and blurring the lines between new media, pop and digital art.

The synthetic look of Dan’s work is quite deliberate, giving his paintings an almost industrial, non-handmade aesthetic. The imagery he uses sits tight within its frame, proposing a sharply-tailored artistic style.

Please note - Dan is selling 2 originals so they might slightly differ to make teach one totally unique
